Sowing time: Lotus seeds do not have hibernation, as long as the water temperature is above 16 ℃, you can sow on any season. Under the condition of appropriate temperature and sunlight, it will take about 50 to 60 days from sowing to flowering. Spring and autumn maybe need 60-80 days.

Seed treatment: Lotus seed shell is hard and dense, must be manually scraped a crevasse before soaking. Be careful not to hurt the embryo. Use sandpaper or a cutter to cut the seeds as shown below before sowing/immersing in water.

How To Grow ?

Remove the skin of the lotus seeds and soak them in clear water. Change the water every day until it germinates to 2-3 leaves. Keep the water surface be 2cm deep at the beginning and after germination, the water needs to be 10cm deep.
Using bowl or pot, the diameter of bowl need to be 25cm x 20cm. If the container is too small and the bowl lotus growth restriction, it is difficult to bloom.
Soaked in warm water for 8 hours before planting will be better if the seeds are over 0.5mm. Because the seeds are in dormant state and need to absorb enough water to germination.
